About the project

Traditional public spaces in Venice > About the project

Dear All,

We, a group of four students from Ca’ Foscari University, are thrilled to introduce a project that invites you to explore the rich history of Venice in a truly immersive way. Imagine an application that serves as a portal to the past, seamlessly blending historical narratives with the contemporary landscape of the city. This is made possible through Augmented Reality (AR) technology, powered by the innovative Wikitude app.

Our carefully curated project focuses on six distinguished locations in Venice, transforming your mobile device into a virtual time machine. It goes beyond a conventional historical journey; it offers an opportunity to experience the essence of Venice’s cultural vibrancy and the profound connection with its heritage.

AR technology allows you to explore some traditional Venitian places and understand something more about their history. Importantly, this initiative is not exclusive to tourists; it extends a warm invitation to the esteemed residents of Venice, recognizing the vital role you play in shaping the city’s character.

We firmly believe that by sharing these stories, we contribute to the collective endeavor of building a Venice characterized by positive vibes and a deep sense of pride in its storied history.

Warm Regards, Group5

Here’s a short video that explain how our project works.
